Trip to Germany

May 7, 2025

Even though it was early April, our recent trip to Germany was packed with so many gifts it felt like Christmas!  The first gift was when we got chosen to set up a 3DP4ME booth at the Global Disabilities Summit!  We proudly sported our traditional red and white Arab scarves and passed out tiny cups of strong Arabic coffee to scores of heroes who paused at our booth to chat.  These people are changing the landscape of the world for people with disabilities, and it was a privilege to strengthen relationships with them.  Then, imagine our shock when representatives from the Jordanian Royal Court cruised by our booth and told us we were going to receive a royal visit from His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan!  What an honor it was to meet this incredible man, one of the last standing statesmen in the world today.  We told him he was an inspiration to us, that we absolutely love living in Jordan, and that when we added Jordanians to our 3DP4ME staff team, the magic began to happen!  Another gift we enjoyed on the trip was meeting Peter Mayr and touring the state-of-the-art 3D printing facility that he directs at the Technical University of Munich (TUM).  Peter has been a big advocate of our work and graciously opened the door for us to present our vision on campus at TUM.  What a trip it was – full of inspirational people and opportunities to partner with others intent on changing the world with technology and compassion.
