Inspiration in Syria

August 20, 2025

Our recent visit to Syria , the third in a row, was nothing short of inspiring. On the morning of August 3rd, we arrived at Ibn Al Nafees Hospital with a clear mission: to change lives. Our skilled CPO, Walid Aldameh, and talented Engineer, Moath Issa, worked hand in hand to complete two final fittings and deliver life-changing prostheses.

The first was for Amer Almasri, a determined 14 year old who lost his right leg below the knee at just two years old after an explosion shrapnel injury.

The second was for Hala Erefae, a bright 10 year old who faced the loss of her right leg below the knee only a few months ago due to a landmine explosion. Both walked away — quite literally — on their brand new 3D-printed prostheses, their confident steps a testament to resilience and hope.Am

In addition, a fitting was completed for Mohd-Nour Al Salkhadi, a 17 year old who lost both legs below the knee following an electrical shock five months ago. The fitting went very well, and he is expected to receive his final prostheses soon.

These moments remind us why we keep returning to witness courage, restore mobility, and help rebuild lives, one step at a time.
