2nd Convening Event in Jordan: “Increase access to prosthetics for people in Gaza.”

On September 25th we organized a gathering to discuss a harrowing issue screaming at many of us in the non-profit arena here in the Middle East – Gaza and the need for prosthetic solutions. The war, which has dragged on for an unbelievable year now, has gouged out a disturbing trail of adults and children – thousands of them – left limbless and without basic capacities for movement.

Jane Wei-Skillern is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Social Sector Leadership at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Previously, she has served on the faculty at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Harvard Business School (HBS), and London Business School. She has studied and published extensively on nonprofit networks for more than two decades. She has also taught courses on social entrepreneurship, nonprofit strategy, and network leadership to MBAs and executives, and is the author and coauthor of dozens of HBS and Haas UC Berkeley case studies, book chapters, and articles.

Lantos 3D Ear Scanning – Staff Training in Boston

One of our staff, Kate Moulton, who lives in Jordan, recently had the opportunity to go to Boston and be trained by Dr. Brian Fligor on how to use the Lantos Technologies 3D ear scanner. After two full days of learning the ins and outs of the scanner, she is able to produce a scan of the inside ear and looks forward to helping train Jordanians in the future in how to use the scanner.
New Referral List – 500 beneficiaries with hearing loss

Special thanks to the CARE (Jordan) team! They provided a new referral list of 500 individuals with hearing loss. Confirming the need for hearing aids in underserved communities within Jordan. Building enduring relationships is key.
