It was a pleasure meeting Hadi Melhem at Ibn Alnafees Hospital in Syria. Only four years old, he is always ready to giggle and play, carrying a lightness that brightens the room.
Hadi was born with a congenital deformity, a reality many children in Syria face due to the devastating effects of the war. Despite this, his spirit remains joyful and full of life.
Last week, he was scanned for a below the knee 3D printed prosthesis, a step that will help him keep running, playing, and exploring the world around him. He is not yet in school, but when the time comes, he will be ready walking confidently through the doors with the same bright smile he carries today.
Each patient receives:
