Another busy day at Ibn Al Nafees Hospital in Damascus brought us face to face with 13 year old Younes Alnaes. Just a few months ago, a landmine explosion took his right leg below the knee while he was tending to his sheep. Life had been simple, yet full of small joys, but now, Younes is learning to navigate a world that suddenly feels different. Relying on crutches, he has had to pause his schooling, and the routines he once took for granted are now a challenge. Before the accident, Younes loved nothing more than going for long walks and playing football with friends. Today, despite everything, his greatest hope remains clear: to return to school, to run and play again, and to embrace the activities that once brought him joy.
