After a two hour journey to Ibn Al-Nafees Hospital, 15 year old Shatha arrived with hope and determination to receive her new 3D-printed prosthesis, a step that will help her continue going to school, helping at home, and moving through life with greater confidence.
Shatha lost her right leg below the knee when she was just six years old after a missile attack struck near her home. As her family ran to safety, a piece of shrapnel injured her leg.
Despite everything she has faced, Shatha never gave up. With resilience and courage, she continues to pursue her education, support her family, and dream of a brighter future. Receiving her prosthesis was more than a fitting appointment , it was a powerful moment of renewed independence and hope.
