Saood Alhusein, a 14-year-old, traveled all the way from Deir El Zour—a six-hour journey—to Ibn Al Nafees Hospital to be scanned for a 3D-printed prosthesis.
Four years ago, while on his way to school, a landmine explosion caused him to lose his left leg below the knee. Since that tragic incident, Saood stopped attending school. Coming from a large family of 17 children, he began working in vegetable trading to help support his family.
Today, with his new prosthesis, Saood’s hope has been renewed. He is walking confidently again, looking ahead to a brighter future—one where he can regain his independence and continue supporting his family.
