Our 3DP4ME team journeyed seven hours north of the Syrian border and witnessed a powerful act of love.
A protective, proud older brother gently cradled his 10-year-old sister, Naseem, and carried her into the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) Termanin physiotherapy center.
Naseem is one of countless innocent children whose lives have been shattered by Syria’s recent conflicts. You could see the uncertainty in her eyes — she was nervous and unsure. Both of her legs, lost below the knee, were casualties of war.
She lost her legs, but not her hope.
We were honored to take the first steps in helping her walk again — soon we will fit her with custom 3D-printed prosthetics, with the hope she’ll be able to stand, move, and live with confidence once more.
Each patient receives:
1) Evaluation
2) Custom 3D printed socket and prostheses
3) Specialized physical therapy evaluation and follow up sessions pending patient needs
4) Ongoing maintenance
5) Holistic care with in-home visits checking on patients.
