Abdeljabar

With new access into Syria, our 3DP4ME team journeyed seven hours north of the border to respond to our neighbor’s urgent need for prosthetic care.

On our first morning at the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) Termanin physiotherapy center a father brought forward his 8-year-old son, Abdeljabar. The boy stood quietly, leaning on his father’s strength — for both balance and comfort.

A severe infection had taken Abdeljabar’s right leg below the knee, leaving a deep mark on his young life. But while he lost a limb, he has not lost his determination.

3DP4ME took the first steps in fitting Abdeljabar with a custom 3D-printed prosthetic —not only restoring his mobility, but also a renewed sense of possibility in a war-torn land still longing for strength and hope.

Each patient receives:

1) Evaluation
2) Custom 3D printed socket and prostheses
3) Specialized physical therapy evaluation and follow up sessions pending patient needs
4) Ongoing maintenance
5) Holistic care with in-home visits checking on patients.
