Empowering patients to walk, move, and hear with 3D printed prostheses and hearing aids.

Helping children in Syria take their next step

Today, 30 children in Syria are waiting for a prosthetic—each one hoping for the chance to walk, play, and regain a sense of normalcy after losing a limb to the remnants of conflict. Through 3DP4ME’s work with the Syrian American Medical Society and the Ministry of Health at Ibn Al Nafees Hospital in Damascus, we provide custom, 3D-printed prosthetics at a cost of $1,500 per child, with a goal of raising $45,000 to reach them. To date, 28 children have been fitted, with 5 more currently in process.

We are deeply grateful for the support that has made this work possible.

The Need

Across the Middle East, war injuries and congenital disabilities have left thousands of children unable to walk, hear, or communicate the way they should.

Thousands need prosthetic limbs

Congenital hearing loss affects children at some of the highest rates regionally

Families are out of options, specialists are scarce, and kids are paying the price.

Prosthetics

We provide each patient with a custom 3D printed prostheses. Which includes physical therapy, psychosocial support, and home visits to check maintenance requests.

“Pay it forward” are words that I have always hoped will serve as a life compass. Meeting Jason and learning about his vision for 3DP4ME touched on many aspects where, I hope, I can provide value. The attractiveness of the project is that it’s not limited to the provision of the gift of hearing to the less fortunate, which, on its own, commands immense merit, but can also serve as a stimulus and positive case study for a budding 3D printing industry.
