Step by Step Project

Help a Child to Walk & Play Again!

We are providing prostheses with custom made 3D-printed sockets to child amputees, including those affected by conflict. Delivering holistic care to the children, including physical therapy and psycho-social support.

The “Step by Step” pilot is working with our advisors from Bionic P&O to:

Start with a pilot in Jordan, to deliver care to 5 children.
Redesign part of our current office, to setup a new prosthetic clinic.
Hire 3 full-time staff a prosthetist, 3D technician, and a project manager.
Provide ‘hands on’ training for a Prosthetist and 3D technician in Jordan
Utilize 3D scanning and printing techniques for custom prosthetic sockets
Include physiotherapy and psycho-social support in a holistic care model
Develop a scalable model that can support INGOs and health partners to meet regional needs.

8,000 people are estimated to need a prosthetic solution in Gaza.

Only 11 doctors trained as prosthetists remain.

All rehabilitation clinics were destroyed, but a few are starting operations again.

3D printed prosthetics will provide amputees living in Gaza’s war-torn conditions with mobility.

Our advisors at Bionic P&O, are willing to train our staff to take digital scan of an amputee’s limb. That file can be professionally modified by a CAD expert (on a computer) and then 3D printed for the exact shape needed for the custom socket.

Utilize non-medical personnel for scanning
3D print the prosthetic socket in an hour or so
